Join us for networking, dinner, chapter meeting and a presentation by William Chu on the geotechnical principles for "building".
Date: Thursday Oct 19, 2017
Topic: The Foundation of Building—Geotechnical Principles
The foundation of our great building heritage resides upon sound geotechnical engineering principles and the longevity of our structures would certainly not stand without. Mr. William Chu will present a knowledge packed symposium on the basics of geotechnical principles including failures and demonstrations of “things gone bad.” With seismic activity, soil movement and water erosion being more pronounced concerns, you won’t want to miss this valuable seminar.
Presented by: William H. Chu, P .E., G.E. Professional and Geotechnical Engineer/Consultant
Mr. Chu has over 27 years of experience in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, material inspection and laboratory testing. He is responsible for a variety of projects, including providing design recommendations during planning and design phases and also providing quality control oversight during construction for public works facilities, bridges, streets, highways, pipelines, utilities, reservoirs, water/wastewater districts, flood control facilities, buildings, hospitals, schools, industrial structures, mining facilities and residential developments.
