Topic: Managing a Visionary Transportation Project
This presentation showcases the engineering of a truly groundbreaking, iconic, and complex project, the Anaheim Regional Intermodal Transportation Center (ARTIC). Topics to be presented will provide insight intoAnaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC) Project the building and site programming, innovation & technology used and LEED Platinum requirements for this first of its kind project built in the USA.
Bio: Mr. McAlpine is a seasoned project executive with 28 years of diverse construction, business development, and project management experience. His background in architecture and exposure to all facets of construction, from design intent through construction and client/contractor oversight, provide Mr. McAlpine with a unique and well-rounded approach to representing general contractors and owners and managing development projects in areas that include financial, program, design, jurisdictional review, bid and award, and construction oversight. He has managed the development of planned construction programs and multimillion dollar projects including the Anaheim Regional Inter Model Center, ARTIC, Anaheim Convention Center Expansion, Pasadena Convention Center expansion, seismic retrofit of the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works (DPW) Headquarters, and construction of hospital and higher education facilities. His contracting systems strategies have resulted in cost and time savings to clients and incident-free program completion. Mr. McAlpine has a high level of expertise with Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) seismic mitigation and retrofit codes, and has managed several multimillion dollar FEMA restorations and emergency reconstruction projects.
