Description: Lean is rapidly growing topic in the AEC industry. Lean provides opportunity to increase value to owners and create more efficiency for AEC companies. This presentation will provide an introduction to Lean and go into detail into some tools that can be applied to your projects or inside your organization. Some of the topics covered will include: Pull Planning, Incentive based contracting, Process mapping and more.

Technology COE Leader
Daniel is the Technology Center of Excellence Leader for the West Region of Balfour Beatty Construction. His primary focus in this role is to capture and grow the best cases of technology use and also to bring new technology and innovation to Balfour Beatty Construction. Additionally, Daniel is a lecturer at San Diego State University (SDSU) where he teaches Virtual Design and Construction to Civil and Construction Engineering students. Daniel is an active member speaker for several Technology and Lean Construction organizations and is currently on the steering committee for the San Diego Lean Construction Institute (LCI) Community of Practice. Daniel is an alumni of SDSU and he often volunteers his time to mentor and teach active students.
Justin Maletic Project Manager
Justin is a Senior Project Manager for Balfour Beatty Construction and also functions as an Integration Manager for the company to bring the best lean collaboration processes to project teams. His most recent work around project integration involves the development of a Project Incentive program for the SDSU Residence Hall Renovation Project. This particular program was designed collaboratively with the client to encourage favorable results in the performance areas of safety, schedule and procurement.
